NVIDIA Graphics Processors Primed for New Intel 845G And 845E Chipset Platforms

NVIDIA GPUs Enhance Performance Power And Deliver High-End 3D Graphics To Mainstream Desktop PCs

SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Delivering the ultimate combination of performance and flexibility to mainstream desktop PCs, NVIDIA® Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA - News) today announced that its GeForce4(TM) family of Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) provides the perfect blend of graphics processing power to Intel® Corporation's newest 845G and 845E chipset platforms for the Pentium® 4 processor. Taking advantage of the increased bandwidth and DDR memory built into the new chipsets, NVIDIA GPUs are able to deliver high-end 3D graphics, multi-display flexibility and enhanced processing power to demanding applications such as 3D gaming and digital video playback, for the best multimedia experience possible.

"Due to the flexibility of the Pentium 4 processor and the 845 chipset platform, PCs based on the Intel 845D chipset and an NVIDIA GeForce MX GPU- or Ti GPU-based add-in-card are able to achieve speeds of up to two to ten times faster, respectively, over PCs based on the integrated 845G chipset," said Dan Vivoli, vice president of marketing at NVIDIA. "NVIDIA has worked closely with Intel architects to handcraft our GPUs and drivers to provide a range of options for the mainstream to performance user."

"The 845G and 845E chipsets were designed with the mainstream and performance-user in mind," said Jason Ziller, technologies initiative marketing manager for Intel. "NVIDIA GPUs provide a very, high-performance option for those consumers looking to run demanding applications, such as 3D gaming and visual environments, that require a significant amount of graphics processing power."

GeForce4 is the most complete family of graphics solutions-from the ferocious graphics power of the GeForce4 Ti, the world's fastest GPU; to the multi-display flexibility of the mainstream GeForce4 MX; to the most advanced mobile graphics available, the GeForce4 Go. GeForce4 GPUs power and enhance the digital experience by ensuring crisp delivery of 3D graphics-at unmatched frame rates.

PCs featuring NVIDIA GeForce4 GPUs and the Intel 845G and 845E chipsets are now available from leading OEMs and retailers. For more information on Intel chipsets, please visit www.intel.com
